The Researcher
Professor of Neurology · UCLA Comprehensive Menopause Program · Principal Investigator
Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl is a Professor of Neurology at UCLA, Director of the UCLA Multiple Sclerosis Program, and one of the world's leading researchers on sex hormones and brain health. She holds over 15 U.S. and European patents for estriol-based cognitive research, and her work is funded by the NIH.
In 2024, her career was profiled in Lancet Neurology — the number one neurology journal in the world. She has over 200 peer-reviewed publications, including directly related research published in Nature Communications.
She founded CleopatraRX because she observed the neurological impact of menopause in her clinic at UCLA — and recognized that the clinical care women needed to protect their brain during menopause did not yet exist.
"While not all aspects of aging can be prevented, those due to loss of estrogen and progesterone during menopause could be."
— Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl, Professor of Neurology, UCLA

This page presents peer-reviewed research findings for educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Clinical results referenced are from a preliminary clinical case series of 20 participants; findings are not from a randomized controlled trial and should be interpreted accordingly; additionally, all participants had at least a college-level education, so it is not yet clear whether results would be similar across the broader population of menopausal women. Future randomized, controlled trials will be important to better understand treatment effects, identify optimal dosing, and evaluate how cognitive outcomes may relate to brain imaging and each woman’s genetics.
