LOS ANGELES, CA– Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl, Director of the UCLA Multiple Sclerosis Program and holder of the Jack H. Skirball Chair for MS Research, has been awarded the inaugural Rachel Horne Prize for Women’s Research in Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The international award, judged by International Women in MS (iWiMS), recognizes outstanding contributions to women’s health research in MS. Dr. Voskuhl was honored for her pioneering work uncovering how sex hormones and genes influence MS risk and progression, leading to new therapeutic targets.
“Women are three times more likely than men to develop MS,” said prize founder Rachel Horne. “Dr. Voskuhl’s groundbreaking research is helping transform that understanding into tailored treatments.”
Dr. Voskuhl will be formally recognized at the 9th Joint ECTRIMS-ACTRIMS Meeting in Milan, Italy, October 11–13,2023
